Hello Coastal Family & Friends!
02/19/07 08:48 PM
Well, thanks to my good friend Buck and a few days
out of town, we've updated our website and I've now
officially entered the Blogosphere!
We still have a few more pages that we'll be adding
- like an events photo page, a WAVES site, and an
updated members directory & database - but for
now I hope you like the changes. We want to keep it
simple, useful, and informative. So, check it out.
If you see anything that needs to be changed or
corrected, please contact me. If you have any
suggestions, just let me know.
I will also be using this blog as another outlet for communication. We will regularly post upcoming events and ministry opportunities. It will also be a chance for me to simply share from my heart to yours. So bookmark this site, visit it regularly, and for the more web savvy, you can subscribe to the RSS feed at the bottom.
Janet and I had a great couple of days in Kiawah celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary! I married the most beautiful, wonderful woman in the world! I've now spent more than half my life with Janet. She can't say that yet - because she's older. She says that's okay as long as I look older - which I do. My life with Janet has been greater than anything I could have ever dreamed, asked for, or imagined. But that's the way it is when God blesses you with a gift. At Kiawah we relaxed, hung out, went to the movies, ate at the Ocean Room (got off my diet - I mean, "lifestyle"), and just had fun! Our kids enjoyed hanging out with Nana while we were gone. I think Nana needed it as well. We picked the kids up on Friday and then headed off to Virginia to spend some much needed time with our friends Buck & Laurie and their kids.
I also wanted to thank everyone for taking care of things while we were gone this week. I was excited to hear that Jeremiah did a great job preaching this past Sunday. I knew he would. We needed this time away. I needed this time away. I have not missed a Sunday preaching at Coastal since late August of 2005. The truth is, that's not good - for me or for you. I will not let that happen again. Just getting away for a few days and not preaching one Sunday has me feeling refreshed and refocused. I can't wait for Sunday as we kick off this new series, "Facing Your Giants." Make sure you're there and you invite and bring someone with you. It's going to be a great series! I'm pumped! And don't miss the Movie Night on Friday Night, March 2nd. Bring some friends. It's going to be powerful.
Being away makes you appreciate home so much more. We love Buck and Laurie and their church, we had fun at Kiawah, but we missed Coastal - we missed you! We head home tomorrow and I'll be back in the office on Wednesday. Give me a call, an email, or even stop by! These are great days at Coastal. I'm just honored and humbled to be a part of it! See you Sunday!
