Evangelism & Apple

Everyone at our church knows that I'm a "Mac Addict." I've owned an Apple Computer since 1989 and have never used a PC. I "converted" our Youth Pastor Jeremiah to the Mac. All of which is probably why this quote from Guy Kawasaki resonated with me:

"[Apple’s users] are truly the evangelists. They’re not paid. They’re not employees. They tell people to use [Apple products] solely for the other person’s benefit. That’s the difference between evangelism and sales. Sales is rooted in what’s good for me. Evangelism is rooted in what’s good for you."

Evangelism comes naturally; evangelism flows from your personal enjoyment of a product, a service, a band, a restaurant, a team, or even another person. Sales is convincing someone to buy something. Worlds apart. Are you more like a Salesman or an Evangelist?
