And the winner is . . .

Josh Beam! Can you believe it? A 13 year old
student won our 1st Annual Chili Cook-Off out of 19
entries! In fact, two weeks ago he even named his
chili, "The Winner." Talk about throwing down the
gauntlet!
And I got to be one of the Judges - me and
two firemen. Thanks Les and Kevin! I had to - I
mean, I got to taste all 19 entries. Don't get me
wrong, I like chili. I really do. But right now
it's late and I ate way too many beans and spices.
But we had a blast! And the turn out was great. We
even had visitors! I'd like to thank Susan Johnson
and Kathy Beam who put this little shin dig
together on behalf of our L-T.E.A.M. (Women's
Ministry). They did a great job. And honestly, what
made it great for me is that I really didn't have
anything to do with it. It was all taken care of by
other people. And the prizes were really cool too -
hand painted aprons and a silver engraved spoon
that will be passed on like the Winston Cup or the
Lombardi trophy to the annual winner. And I don't
know if you noticed (I did), but the top 3 winners
were all men! Way to go guys! Can you hear the
masculine grunting noises - oh wait, that's my
stomach. It's late and I better go. Congratulations
Josh!
