Sunday Reflections Part Two

I got kind of sidetracked in my last post about vision that I didn't mention several things that stood out from Sunday:

- People really seemed to like the transformation of our Welcome Room. Even though it's far from from complete, the larger space and improved people flow made an immediate impact. I say far from complete, but what Patrick and his crew and our volunteers did in one week was impressive. When we're ready to paint, we'll be sending out the plea for volunteers! (They're laying the tile right now!)

- Our attendance was back up on Sunday. Pray. Build relationships. Invite.

- The Praise & Worship Team did an outstanding job! My wife says that they even cover her mistakes! Everyone really loves the Chris Tomlin arrangement of "Amazing Grace."

- We packed and wrapped almost 50 very large shoe boxes last night for Operation Christmas Child. Always a highlight of the year. Teresa Spell, the master organizer, makes that as smooth as you can imagine. We have several people who would make excellent Mall Christmas Present Wrappers - I am not one of them! (Although I am a rapper of another kind - Jam Pastor Chris!)

- Student Ministry had a lot of kids and a lot of energy last night! Make sure you come to our Chili Cook-off this Saturday, 5:30-7:30. All proceeds go to Student Ministry. Jeremiah says he needs several more chili entries!

- The real highlight for me was seeing everyone sign up to serve next week at our "The Church Has Left the Building" service. Don't miss this service! Come next Sunday at 9:30AM for a very brief time of worship and communion and then we'll be leaving the building to serve our community. Go here for more information and to sign up for one of the two projects.

- Great Noah's Park (Nursery) meeting after church. See Janet to volunteer in Promiseland. We still need several adult volunteers in Coastal Kidz (1st-5th Grade). We want our Sunday morning Children's Ministry to be the best thing a child does that week. We want them begging their parents to return!

- My message "Give it" was all about giving your life away in Ministry. We want Team Players, Team Builders, Willing, Grateful, Faithful Servants in Ministry. And yes, we will see Coastal grow to at least 2,000 people!

- Just 8 weeks away from adding a second Sunday morning Worship Service - January 6th, 9:30AM & 11:15AM!

- And finally, this is more of a Saturday reflection, but Clemson won and South Carolina lost! Life is good!
