Sunday Reflections

I knew it was going to be a weird day when the local TV stations were telling people to stay home Sunday morning and stay off the roads. One weatherman told his viewers to stay home and don't go to church unless you live in a trailer park and need to get to a shelter. We had about 3 people call and ask if we were having church. Yes - we had church. Needless to say, our attendance was definitely down. Several families lost power early Sunday morning. It was storming before and during the first service. During the second, just a lot of wind. This is a picture of the Johns Island FD helping residents remove an oak tree from Maybank Hwy.

But you know what? It was still a great Mother's Day. Had two Baby Dedications, fun videos, and several guests. We're planning to have another Baby Dedication on Father's Day. Let me know if you'd like to participate.

We continued with our series through Philippians with a very appropriate message for families on Mother's Day. We talked about complaining. I challenged every family to outlaw complaining in their home.

After church Lydia had a piano and voice recital. On the way home we stopped at Guitar Center for the third time in about a week. We still haven't bought anything yet. We spent the rest of the day hanging out as a family, watching the Survivor finale (weird, wild Survivor season), and eating Zaxby's for dinner. Fun Mother's Day!

We loaded Janet down with lots of gifts - flowers, lotion, pj's, shoes, purse, and cards. Speaking of Janet - guess what? She started blogging! Visit her blog on the Promiseland website and leave her a comment. I'm looking forward to reading more about this awesome ministry and our awesome volunteers!
