Slow Blogging Week

Yes, it's been a slow week for my blog. No reason in particular, just haven't made the time to write this week. But it has been a good week - as always, full of great stuff! Life is like that. A few highlights of the week in no particular order:

- took Wes back to the airport on Monday. He's such a great guy. He has a genuine passionate love for God and Students. God is going to use him in a mighty way here at Coastal. July can not get here fast enough!

- went to breakfast on Tuesday with the Principal from Oakland Elementary School to hear Dr. Nancy McGinley's State of the School address. She is very gifted leader. And from what I can tell, she is beginning to make a difference here in Charleston County Schools. We've got to do a better job next year making an impact at Oakland Elementary School. Maybe an after school program? Maybe more volunteers? Maybe more acts of kindness?

- speaking of Oakland, on Tuesday night they had their Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. I was asked to have the prayer for the food and got several small gifts of appreciation for serving. I really loved our Volunteer Appreciation Banquet we did earlier this year. It was a lot of fun. We need to constantly be looking for creative ways to tell people thank you and remind them why they do what they do and for Who they do it.

- on Wednesday Christopher and I went to have lunch with Bill and his co-workers at their favorite Thai restaurant - Mei Thai. There was wreck on the interstate and Christopher and I were in traffic for an hour and a half (God is really helping me apply Sunday's message)! We made it to the restaurant just as Bill and his co-workers were leaving. Over the last year or so I've been working my way up food temperature chart to Thai spicy (mild, medium, hot, Thai spicy). Bill can only handle medium and his head still sweats like a fountain. Yes - it was VERY hot, but very good! Cleared up my sinuses for the next two hours.

- been to Guitar Center twice this week with Christopher. Very cool place. Christopher is wanting to learn to play the guitar. So, right now we're in the investigating stage. We've talked with Jr., Jeff, and Wes. I wonder if Guitar Hero has increased guitar sales? I wonder what Christopher might be getting for his birthday?

- this Sunday is Mother's Day! Have you taken care of Mom yet? Have you helped your kids take care of Mom? I am a very blessed man. My Mom is a believer and very active in our church and the best Nana I could imagine. My wife is the best Mommy to our kids I could ever imagine. I am so grateful for her.

Well, that's about it. I'm here at the office today, wrapping things up for Sunday. Going to be a great Mother's Day! Invite and bring someone with you!
