-Watch out world - my son has his own blog! The funny thing about
that is that he hates to write. I'm not sure
what uber-epic thoughts are, but they're his
and I love reading them.
-My daughter picked out her prom dress! I thought that meant the journey was over, boy was I wrong! One word: shoes. She looks so grown up in her dress! She is such a beautiful young woman.
-I'm in 3 different Small Groups right now and I love each one of them. On Tuesday morning before school I meet with an awesome group of Teachers at Oakland Elementary School. It's a very simple format - we read a scripture, take prayer requests, and pray. We only have about 20 minutes. I then pass out doughnuts and coffee around the school. It's one of the highlights of my week. On Wednesday morning I meet with a group of men before work. We talk about our lives, read some scripture, and pray. We also laugh so hard sometimes it hurts and share some thoughts our wives should never hear or understand if they did. On Wednesday nights Janet and I lead and host a group in our home. Right now we're using questions that go along with the previous Sunday's message. We have so much fun! I just love my "groups!"
-I made a few phone calls and posted our job opening for Youth Pastor at our church. In less than two days we've already gotten 48 resumes. The farthest distance of someone applying for the job - Australia! No worries mate! Pray for us during this process.
-What storm?! Our weathermen are suffering from HDD - Hurricane Deficit Disorder.
-Still have a few tickets available for Coastal volunteers to go to the Unleash Conference next Thursday. Give me a call. It's going to be awesome!
-Can't wait for our Volunteer Banquet on Saturday!
-Clemson might just be turning into a basketball school. Okay, not really, but we're definitely making it to the Big Dance this year.
-After 17 years, 3 League MVP's, a Super Bowl victory, and multiple records, Brett Farve calls it quits and retires this week. He says he's tired and it's just not as much fun anymore. I've been at Coastal now for 18 years and I just now feel like we're hitting our sweet spot. And it's just as much fun today as it was 18 years ago! Man up Farve (just joking)!
-Speaking of the Big Dance and the Big Game - that's how we feel about Sunday mornings at Coastal! Our Sunday morning service is the Big Dance, the Big Game, and the Super Bowl all rolled into one! Everything we do is geared to sharing and experiencing LIFE! This week we close out our "Mythbusters" series. We begin a two week series for Palm Sunday and Easter called, "Bridges." Pray & Invite! Get your seeking friends to church on Easter!
